1st Baptism!
So this week was good but very long. I have only been in the field for two weeks but it feels like I have been here for like 4 months. But it's all good, just trying to get through the days and trying to understand the people and trying to communicate with my companion. On Wednesday, we had district splits or something, so I was with a diffrent companion and she speaks fluent Spanish and fluent English. We came into the field together, so that was fun hanging with her and talking to her in English and kinda just getting all my emotions out. Later that day she got sick so we stayed in their casa for the rest of the night and just talked and shared scriptures and it was something I really needed for that week and that hermana and I really grew closer, so she is always someone I can talk to about just how I'm feeling and stuff. Saturday we had a baptism and that was amazing! He is so cool and he is learning English in school, so that is fun kind of helping him learn it, it was cool just experiencing that and seeing how it all works. So right before the baptism, they were assigning the talks and they asked if I could give the talk on the holy ghost. I kinda just looked at them like I really didn't want to, but I guess I can, but then this hermano said he could give the talk and I was like thank you so much!!! I really didn't know what I would have done if I would have had to give the talk, but I did end up giving the closing prayer. It was really cool just seeing it all and not really understand anything that was going on, but feeling the spirit so strongly!
They have a waffle place here and it is so good! The owner is from Boston so she speaks English and that is why the waffle place is so American like, which one of the hermanas said to me that this is the closest thing I'm going to get to American food.
That was my week, hope everyone had a good week and remember that God loves you and He is always here for you even through the hard times that feel like you are alone. Peace, love you all.
Also what I have learned is after you have a baptism here you always celebrate with ice cream which was fine with me.
